Frequently Asked Questions FAQ

What are the costs of a TCVT certificate?

The TCVT certificate or registration (and the XS-ID app) is issued by TCVT-RA. We are not involved in this process. The registration fee of €195 (excl. VAT) is paid by the TCVT-RA participant.

What exactly is covered per topic during the Introduction to UAV, RAW, UAV Integrated Contracts and BPKV course?

Basic UAV 1989/2012:

The UAV 1989/2012 is the framework we use in our traditional collaboration model. This defines the rights and obligations between the client and the contractor. As the client, you are responsible for the design and specifications, while the contractor carries out the work. Management represents and monitors compliance with the agreements.

During the course, we'll cover various topics important to the UAV 1989/2012. For example, we'll look at how work begins, the obligations of both the client and the contractor, the specifications, and potential issues within the contract. We'll also address issues such as building materials, additional or reduced work, who is liable for damage and defects, what happens if the work is not up to par, and the delivery process. In addition, we take a closer look at specific topics within the UAV 2012.

Basic RAW:
Clear and sound agreements between the client and contractor are essential for building mutual trust and successfully completing a project. In the Civil Engineering (GWW) sector, these agreements are documented in the RAW system and the STABU system.

During the course, you'll learn the basic principles of the RAW system and receive a brief introduction to the STABU system. We'll cover various topics, such as the principles, objectives, provisions, descriptions, quantities, and specifics within the system. We'll convey the theory in a practical way using real-life examples and are reinforced by our years of experience in RAW/UAV case law and mediation.

Run with RAW
When drafting clear agreements, the motto "whoever writes, remains" applies. It is crucial that the clear agreements outlined in the RAW system are actually applied in the workplace. Knowing and being able to locate the standard Technical Provisions within a RAW specification is also crucial.

In addition, it's important that the contractor recognizes problems or changes in the implementation in a timely manner. Reporting and recording these issues promptly is a key component of this. It also establishes a link between the company's quality management system and the requirements stipulated in the contract.

We also cover the sections of the RAW/UAV that are particularly relevant to project managers, work planners, and contractors. Section 27 of the UAV 1989/2012 is central to this and will receive the necessary attention during the course.

RAW Contract Administration/ Calculating with RAW and UAV
Financial paragraph 40 of the UAV 1989/2012 has its own interpretation within the RAW system. A key aspect of this is the settlement of the contract sum based on periodic production reporting.

During the course, we cover various topics, including the Tender Statement, Quantity Types, Transfer Prices, Weekly Statements, Weekly Reports, Instalment Statements, Additional Invoices, Administrative Accounting for Additional and Less Work, Statement of Settlement, and Final Settlement. The course is interactive, and we work in groups on case studies to better understand and apply the concepts. The goal of the course is to be able to independently prepare an Instalment Statement and Final Settlement. Note: This course is not a “button course”, but focuses on understanding the system.

Registration and checking for contractors
This course builds on the knowledge gained during the "Executing with RAW" course. We'll delve deeper into various topics to gain a better understanding of the various team roles, tasks, and responsibilities. We'll discuss the background, tasks, and mandates of the UAV Management Board, and the control mechanisms applied within the RAW/UAV. We'll also cover VISI (agreement framework) and the opportunities and risks associated with RAW specifications. By correctly applying administrative and legal aspects, we can stimulate further professionalization, which significantly contributes to the project's success, both financially and in other areas. We'll also share the lessons learned during project procurement and costing, resulting in valuable learning opportunities at all levels and helping to reduce failure costs.

UAV-GC 2005 & 2025
The UAV-GC is rarely covered in this course, unless the group indicates a need for it and time permits. The new UAV-GC was launched in January 2025. Please indicate when registering if you would like this topic covered.

BPKV
We look at what the BPKV is and what it means for the client, contractor and implementation.

Where should I go to renew my TCVT certificate?

You can request this directly in the XS-ID app or register with TCVT. TCVT can be reached via: tcvt@tcvt.nl or call tel: 030-29 01 624.

Who registers the practical experience and who carries out the mandatory TCVT refresher training?

The employer (self-employed persons do this themselves) registers quarterly via online.secure-logistics.nl/tcvt That the holder has performed work related to the specific certification. For this, the employer (or the self-employed person themselves) must have registered with TCVT-RA to receive login information to record this practical experience. The employer only sees the registered practical hours per quarter and not the completed TCVT Refresher Course modules. The certificate/registration holder does have this complete overview of the practical hours and the completed Compulsory TCVT Refresher Course.

The modules of the Compulsory TCVT Refresher Training A+B of C + D are registered by the certified TCVT(-RA) trainer. If you completed the refresher course with us, we are registered.

Why is W4-08 (hoist supervisor) and/or W4-09 (construction hooker) not listed in the app/on the DSP pass?

A W4-01 through W4-07 operator automatically holds the qualifications of a W4-08 hoist supervisor and/or a W4-09 construction hooker. Although this isn't explicitly stated in the app or on the DSP card, it is.

  • Follow the TCVT refresher courses within the designated periods:
1st training within the first 3 years after the date of issue of the certificate/registration and the 2st training after 3 years and before the expiry date of the certificate/registration.
You do not have to take a theory exam.

Who is the short course suitable for and who is the long course for machine-related training?

De short course is suitable for participants who have:

  • Good reading skills (MBO level 3 or 4) to be able to study at home in preparation.
  • Good hand-eye coordination for operating a crane and a high level of knowledge of the content.

De length curriculum is suitable for participants who are relatively new to the crane operator profession and for participants for whom the short course is not suitable based on their level of knowledge.

A prospective participant can take an assessment (entry test) to assess their current knowledge and skills relative to the final and test objectives, and to recommend a training duration or other options. The cost per half-day test per participant is €375 (excluding VAT). A short report with our findings will be provided after the test.
