Do you want to be sure of a job in the gas, water, and heating sector? Then take this course and become a well-trained technician. You'll be able to organize and carry out work independently and manage your colleagues. You can learn this in just one year, tailored to your level and pace. The course is recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW) and follows the qualification requirements for "Gas/Water/Heat Technician" (Crebo 27010). You can choose from Gas, Water, or Heat Distribution, or a combination of these disciplines. The investment depends on the number of disciplines:

You'll take the course alongside your work at an accredited training company. On Saturdays, you're welcome at SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen for theory lessons. The course consists of 20 theory lessons. You can work through the digital course materials from Stichting Blei at your own level and pace. The course material consists of standard components and three in-depth modules. View the training schedule here.
Generic subjects
Dutch, Mathematics, and Career & Citizenship are compulsory components of the program. If you have already completed these subjects at a minimum level of MBO level 2 in a previous program, you can request an exemption by email: examens@somabedrijfsopleidingen.nlGood to know: this gives a discount of €725 (excl. VAT).
Practice
In addition to the theory lessons, participants are expected to regularly complete practical training hours (BPV: Professional Practice Training). Once you start working in the field, you must hold the relevant VOP certificate. To assess your proficiency and meet the required qualifications, a Proficiency Test will be administered at the end of the training. Additional practical training sessions can be booked with us as part of the BPV. For example, for components of this training that you cannot perform yourself in practice. This allows you to still have the Proficiency Test examined. Please inquire with us to the possibilities.
Portfolio
Throughout the program, you'll document your progress in a portfolio. This forms an important foundation for obtaining your final diploma.
In addition to submitting your portfolio, you'll also take several theory tests and practical exams. Once you successfully complete all these exams, you'll receive your diploma.
