Gas, Water and Heat Distribution Engineer

Technical professionals are desperately needed. With this OCW-accredited training program, which follows the guidelines of VIAG, KIAD, VeWa, and CKB, you'll secure employment in a constantly evolving industry where qualified technicians are essential. You'll take theory classes on Saturdays at SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen and learn alongside other adults. You can choose to specialize in one area or pursue a combination of all three.
The training takes approximately one year, depending on your level and pace. This training is based on the "Gas/Water/Heat Installer" qualification file with Crebo 27006. You can choose between Gas, Water, or Heat Distribution, or a combination of these three. The total cost of this training depends on the number of programs you choose:

You'll take this course alongside your work at an accredited training company. On Saturdays, you'll attend theory classes at SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen. If you require additional practical training, these can be arranged in consultation with you at an accredited workplace.

What will you learn during the training?

The course consists of 20 theory lessons in Harderwijk. You can also work through the digital course material at your own level and pace. The digital course material is provided by the Blei Foundation and consists of standard components and two advanced modules. View the training schedule here.

Generic subjects
A compulsory part of the course consists of the subjects Dutch, arithmetic and career & citizenship.

Practice
The majority of the training consists of theoretical lessons, but participants are also expected to complete regular practical training (BPV: Professional Practice Training). Once you start working in the field, you must hold the relevant VOP certificate. To assess your proficiency in your field and meet the required qualifications, a Proof of Competence (PVB) will be administered at the end of the training. Additional practical training These can be booked with us as an optional part of the internship. For example, for components of this training that you cannot perform yourself in practice. This way, you can still have the Proof of Competence examined. Please inquire with us to the possibilities.

Portfolio
Throughout the program, you'll document your progress in a portfolio. This forms an important foundation for obtaining your final diploma.

What do you get afterwards?

In addition to your portfolio assessment, you will take several theory tests and practical exams. If the assessments are positive, you will receive your diploma.

  • You can participate in the course if you have a VMBO framework level qualification.
  • In addition, you are in possession of VCA Basic and, if you work in gas, a VOP designation.
