Take advantage of the subsidy for training costs

Construction employees (collective labor agreement for the construction industry) can use a subsidy for training costs. Transitional arrangement for individual budget (period January 1 – December 31, 2018). The collective labor agreement parties in the construction and infrastructure sector have made a transitional arrangement available for the individual budget. Employees in this sector can use this arrangement once for training costs resulting from the consultation, which is part of the Sustainable Employability Analysis (DIA). The amount is a supplement to the existing individual budget. The arrangement can also be used for a Volandis EVC program.

To qualify for the transitional individual budget arrangement, a number of conditions must be met:

  1. 1. The employee participated in a Sustainable Employability Analysis (DIA) 1) in the period from April 1, 2017 to December 31, 2018.
  2. The training:
    a. aligns with the DIA action plan;
    b. is or will be followed in the context of your sustainable employability;
    c. is or is being followed with a view to acquiring (more) income;
    d. is not necessary for the performance of your current duties:
    e. starts within twelve months of participating in the DIA.
  3. Employee paid the invoice for the training costs himself 2).
  4. At the time the compensation is made payable, you must be employed by an employer who falls under the construction collective labor agreement.
  5. Employees are entitled to a 50% reimbursement of the training costs resulting from the DIA, up to a maximum of €1.250,00. Employees are responsible for applying for this reimbursement and providing the evidence demonstrating their entitlement.

Comments
1) Please note: Employees can request a Spontaneous DIA Consultation without a PAGO (Path of the Job Training) at Volandis and agree on a DIA action plan regarding training(s) and referral to Bouwloopbaan, the Construction Trainers. There are no costs associated with this. Following contact with Bouwloopbaan, the next step can be to contact the training institute or register for a training course.

2) Advice: The employee pays for the training. If the company is willing to consider the matter, the employee can make arrangements with the company to reimburse the costs in full or in part.
