We've contributed to training new professionals at the Van Gelder School in Amsterdam, and we're incredibly proud of that. It's wonderful to see this collaboration between various parties for the new talent in the infrastructure sector. Let this serve as a great pilot for future projects!
Our experienced instructors, Kees Stam and Sytze Kloosterman, guided the participants with passion and expertise and provided them with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in civil engineering (GWW).
For this project, the Van Gelder School specifically focused on training Amsterdam residents without (permanent) jobs and those with refugee status. During the first twelve weeks of the program, which takes place at the Petroleumhavenweg location, participants intensively develop their Dutch language skills, receive VCA training, and learn the basics of our field. This mix of theory and practice enables them to quickly and effectively enter the infrastructure sector.
Several parties worked for client Van Gelder to make this training program a success. For example, recruitment agency Geja played a key role in recruiting and supporting participants throughout the program. "Our role is primarily to ensure that people are found and connected to the Van Gelder school," says Arjan from Geja. Other parties include the Social Return Bureau of the municipality of Amsterdam, social return organization Ecce, Language Bureau TCM, and assessment agency NOA. And, of course, we, as a trainer for adults in the infrastructure sector.
Our partnership with Van Gelder-school offers these participants a unique opportunity to develop themselves and build a sustainable future in a constantly evolving sector. We are honored to play a role in this valuable initiative and to contribute to the training of tomorrow's professionals. Our account manager, René Berghuis, presented the certificates this week.
