The world's largest semi-submersible vessel

The Sleipnir (named after the eight-legged horse of the Norse god Odin) is being built for Heerema Marine Contractors. At 220 meters long and 102 meters wide, it is the largest ship ever built. It is equipped with two 10.000-ton cranes, capable of lifting a maximum of 20.000 tons in tandem.

The Sleipnir will be used for offshore oil, gas, and renewable energy installation and decommissioning. The vessel can accommodate 400 people, and Heerema has already secured several contracts for various offshore projects. Heerema anticipates significant growth in the offshore wind sector. The Sleipnir, with its two large cranes with a lifting height of 175 meters, is therefore ideally suited to meet this growth.

'The Sleipnir' will soon be officially delivered to Heerema.
