A program that combines online and practical learning. On May 23rd, five participants and five instructors from five different companies launched the pilot program for the innovative MBO Level 4 Basic Surveying Course. This program was developed through a unique collaboration between Geo-Informatie Nederland (GIN), several leading companies in the sector, and SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen.
The Basic Surveying Course is designed for entry-level students and employees who want to specialize in this field. The course distinguishes itself through its flexible design, allowing for immediate practical application of knowledge and skills, eliminating the need to relearn existing knowledge. The course consists of several modules, including basic surveying, GNSS surveying, and layout. The Construction, Road Construction/Infrastructure, and Geo Data Acquisition and Processing modules are still being developed.

The pilot is being conducted by SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen and Geo-Informatie Nederland (GIN). The initial results of the pilot are promising. Participants are positive about the flexible design of the training and the possibility of acquired knowledge directly into practice applying.
If the pilot is successfully completed, the Basic Surveying Training will start on January 1, 2024 officially started And anyone who wishes to do so can register. This will give even more people the opportunity to specialize in this field.
