Crane operators working on construction sites in the Netherlands must hold a TCVT certificate. Various certifications are available, depending on the type of crane. There are different TCVT certificates for:
· Truck-mounted crane operator
· Mobile (telescopic) crane operator
Mobile tower crane operator
Tower crane operator
· Small foundation machine operator
· Operator of large foundation machine
· Earthmoving machine operator
· Telehandler operator
Skilled machinists
Dutch or foreign drivers working in the Netherlands must comply with this personal certificate to ensure safety.
TCVT personal certificate
The TCVT personal certificate is valid for five years, after which a new certificate (recertification) can be requested from DNV-GL. To qualify, sufficient practical experience and mandatory TCVT refresher training must be completed. The first mandatory TCVT refresher training must take place within the first 36 months, and the second within the last 24 months. If the refresher training is not completed in time, the right to recertification expires, and a new theory exam will be required.
