This course is a shortened basic training course for employees who hold a TCVT certificate for Mobile Crane or Tower Crane, or another offshore certificate. This is the entry point to becoming a fully certified Offshore Crane Operator.
A deck crane operator moves loads on and off a ship. The operator must work safely, responsibly, and efficiently and must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues. The deck crane operator is knowledgeable about lifting plans, safety aspects for lifting equipment, and the attachment of loads.
Moving loads involves risks. For example, a load can be incorrectly attached, causing it to fall from the crane or hoist. To prevent lifting incidents, good communication, the correct selection of lifting equipment, and the correct attachment of loads are essential. After completing this course, you will be able to work safely, responsibly, and efficiently.
For maintenance and repair of engine room machinery, heavy components must be moved from one location to another. During the "Rigging and Lifting for Engine Room" course, you'll learn, among other things, how to safely secure loads.
In the rigging and lifting course, participants learn how to attach loads and how to move them safely in conjunction with the crane operator. Various topics will be covered during the lessons. On the final day of the (basic) training, there will be an assessment. This assessment consists of a practical test.
The Safe Lifting Operations Installations (Maritime) training course is designed for supervisors/persons in charge of lifting operations in the maritime sector. Safe Lifting Operations participants learn to interpret lifting plans, how to safely attach loads, and how to move loads safely with a crane.
Moving loads involves risks. For example, when a load is incorrectly secured and falls from the crane or hoist. Most lifting incidents can be prevented with good communication, the right lifting equipment, and by slinging the load correctly. You'll learn all this during the "Safe Slinging of Loads" course.
To lift vessels safely and efficiently using a hoist, the Dutch Working Conditions Act (Arbowet) requires that the operator's knowledge and skills be recorded and maintained. This reduces the risk of serious accidents and damage.
An operator moves loads with a small deck crane on board a ship. The operator must work safely, responsibly, and efficiently and must be able to communicate clearly with colleagues. The trainee will gain knowledge of safety aspects, lifting equipment, and the attachment and movement of loads on board.
