Build relationships. Build growth. Help build the future of the Netherlands.

Behind every well-trained professional stands an organization that invests in development. And behind that organization often stands SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen.

As an Account Manager, you help companies prepare their employees for the challenges of tomorrow. You don't just sell a training course; you think along with them, advise, and build long-term relationships. In doing so, you contribute to a safe, sustainable, and future-proof infrastructure in the Netherlands.

One of our experienced account managers will be retiring soon. After years of building strong client relationships, he is handing over his territory. This leaves you with a great foundation: an existing client portfolio to build upon, as well as ample room to develop new relationships and create commercial opportunities.

Why work as an Account Manager at SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen?

SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen is a leading training provider for the infrastructure and vertical transport sectors, among others. Every day, we help organizations develop professionals who work on reliable energy supplies, sustainable infrastructure, and a safe working environment.

That makes this position different from many other commercial roles.

You do not sell a standard product. You engage in dialogue with clients about the development of their employees, their training challenges, and plans for the future. You build partnerships and work together to find training solutions that truly fit their organization.

At the same time, you work in a commercial environment where initiative and results matter. You are given a great deal of freedom and responsibility to seize opportunities and further expand your market.

What are you going to do?

As an Account Manager, you are responsible for managing, developing, and expanding customer relationships within your territory.

You visit existing clients, identify training and development needs, and translate these into appropriate solutions together with your colleagues. Additionally, you actively seek out new organizations and commercial opportunities.

You are a discussion partner for various people within an organization: from site manager and project leader to HR manager, training coordinator, and the board of directors.

Together with your colleagues at SOMA, you ensure that agreements are followed up, processes are well organized, and clients receive optimal support.

Your main responsibilities:

  • maintain and further develop existing customer relationships;
  • develop new commercial opportunities and relationships;
  • advising clients on training and development issues;
  • Drafting and following up on quotations and proposals;
  • contribute to growth, customer satisfaction, and results;
  • identifying market developments and customer needs;
  • Representing SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen at networking meetings and events;
  • Collaborate intensively with colleagues within the organization.

Who are we looking for?

You have several years of experience in a commercial, advisory, or client-facing role and are ready for the next step. Perhaps you already work as an account manager or commercial advisor, or hold another role where relationship management, advice, and commerce come together.

You get energy from contact with people and are genuinely curious about what is going on within an organization. You listen well, connect easily, and spot commercial opportunities.

You don't need to know our world from A to Z yet. We find it much more important that you are curious, take initiative, and want to develop yourself further.

You recognize yourself in this:

  • You have experience in a commercial, advisory, or customer-oriented role;
  • You make connections easily and enjoy building long-term relationships;
  • You think commercially and from the customer's needs;
  • You are enterprising, curious, and proactive;
  • You are a good listener and can connect people and interests;
  • you see opportunities and know how to take action on them;
  • You want to further develop yourself in account management;
  • An affinity with technology, infrastructure, or education is a plus.

What does SOMA offer you?

At SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen, you are given a great deal of freedom to shape your role yourself. Moreover, you are not stepping into an empty territory: thanks to the client relationships built by your predecessor, there is a solid foundation upon which you can build.

You can count on:

  • an independent field sales position with a lot of freedom;
  • an existing client portfolio as a solid foundation;
  • room to develop new customers and markets;
  • ample room for entrepreneurship and personal initiative;
  • enthusiastic colleagues who want to grow together;
  • good employment conditions commensurate with the position;
  • opportunities to further develop yourself and advance your career.

Ready for your next commercial step?

After years of building his client base and network with great dedication, one of our account managers will soon be retiring. We are now looking for someone to take over from him.

Not to keep doing everything exactly the same, but to build upon what is already there and add your own ideas, energy, and ambition to it.

Can you see yourself doing that? Then we would love to get to know you.

Simply fill out the form below or send your cover letter and CV to Arjette van den Brink via a.vandenbrink@somabedrijfsopleidingen.nl.
