For maintenance and repair of engine room machinery, heavy components must be moved from one location to another. During the "Rigging and Lifting for Engine Room" course, you will learn, among other things, how to safely attach loads. You will also learn how to safely move loads in conjunction with the crane operator. Various topics are covered during the lessons. On the last day of the (basic) training, a practical test is administered as an assessment. If this assessment is positive, you will receive the Certificate of Expertise Rigging and Lifting.

The course is suitable for employees working at road construction companies and/or public works departments of municipalities who, for example, carry out work on sewers and roads.

What will you learn during the training?

The course combines theory and practice. You will learn:

  • How to use lifting equipment safely
  • The different types of taps used
  • The safety precautions you must take when using lifting equipment, such as chains, wire ropes, lifting straps, and special lifting tools. You will also learn the importance of maintenance, storage, and visual inspection of these materials.
  • How to communicate effectively while performing lifting operations
  • The importance of regular maintenance
  • Connecting loads (practice)
  • Working with a crane operator (practice)

What do you get afterwards?

After successfully completing the theory and practical exam, you will receive a certificate proving your proficiency in Rigging and Lifting.
