Rigging and Lifting Maritime

In the rigging and lifting course, participants learn how to attach loads and how to move them safely in conjunction with the crane operator. Various topics will be covered during the lessons. On the final day of the (basic) training, there will be an assessment. This assessment consists of a practical test.

What will you learn during the training?

The course combines theory and practice. You will learn:

  • lifting equipment
  • various types of taps
  • safety aspects of lifting equipment
    • chain and chainwork
    • steel cables
    • lifting straps
    • special lifting equipment
    • maintenance, storage and visual inspection
  • safe slinging of loads
  • communication
  • hand and arm signals
  • daily maintenance
  • attaching loads (practice)
  • working together with a crane operator (practice).

What do you get afterwards?

The course concludes with a practical test. If this assessment is positive, you will receive the Certificate of Expertise Rigging and Lifting.
