When performing lifting operations on the track with a crane or lorry, the operator or crane driver must hold the Krol Crane W5-02 TCVT certificate. To obtain this certificate, you must already hold a valid TCVT W4-01 (mobile telescopic crane operator) or W4-05 (earthmoving machine operator with lifting function) certificate. In addition, you must hold the Gmnc railAlert certificate. During this training, we work towards the practical exam, in accordance with the final and test terms of the TCVT certification scheme.
The Krol-Kraan W5-02 certificate that has been issued before 31-12-2022 is valid for 3 years. After these 3 years, the holder must take a practical exam again. The Krol-Kraan W5-02 certificate that was issued from 1-1-2023 The certificate is valid for 5 years. Renewal is possible based on demonstrable practical experience (digital registration) and participation in two training days: a refresher course in the first three years and a refresher course in the final two years. You can choose between the mandatory TCVT refresher course A+B or C+D and the KROL refresher course. The order in which you take these courses does not matter.

The course concludes with a practical exam (conducted by an independent agency). Upon successful completion of this exam, you will receive the TCVT certificate "Machinist KROL W5-02." This certificate is issued by TCVT. The registration fee of €195 (excluding VAT) is paid by the TCVT participant.
