Electric equipment such as electric excavators, electric shovels, and battery-powered containers is increasingly being used on construction sites. This technological development requires new knowledge and skills from construction site workers who work with or around this equipment. During this course, participants will be optimally prepared to work with electric machinery in a construction site environment, including all associated processes and safety aspects. The training is practical and tailored to daily work.

This course is specifically designed for construction site workers who work in an environment involving electrical equipment. Upon completion, they will have the necessary knowledge to work safely.

What will you learn during this safe working course?

The course combines theory and practical examples. You will learn:

  • safe charging of electrical machines and prevention of malfunctions
  • the basic knowledge and skills for working safely with electric vehicles and the dangers
  • the most important laws and regulations regarding electrical equipment
  • about the NEN3140 vs. NEN9140 standards
  • basic electrical concepts and technical components
  • system safety (SMRs, MSD plug/switch, interlock, insulation monitoring)
  • charging high-voltage batteries and starting up HV systems
  • how to act in practice (cleaning, emergencies, incidents)
  • operational limitations of electrical machines and energy management
  • the permitted work on electric vehicles
  • setting up a safe workplace on the construction site

What do you get afterwards?

The course concludes with a theory test. After successfully completing the test, participants will receive a certificate (valid for 5 years).
