All-round Civil Engineering Professional level 3

As an All-round Civil Engineering Professional, you'll be a versatile worker in civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, and road construction. You'll work independently or as part of a team on various infrastructure projects, primarily involving the construction and maintenance of sewers and road foundations. Your daily activities include laying new road surfaces, earthworks, wellpoint drainage, foundations, and house connections. As an All-round Civil Engineering Professional, you'll use auxiliary equipment such as excavators. During this training, you'll also learn to assist with road grading and paving new roads. You'll learn to read and create schedules and gain experience in making calculations.

The All-round Civil Engineering Professional training program lasts one year and is available on Saturdays. During these lessons, instructors with extensive experience in civil engineering explain the theory. You'll also work independently and collaboratively on assignments with fellow students.

This training is suitable for employees working at road construction companies and/or municipal public works departments, who, for example, carry out work on sewers and roads.

Working safely along the road
As a General Contractor in Civil Engineering, you'll typically work in busy and sometimes dangerous environments. Traffic, varying hours, and the handling of heavy parts and materials can pose risks to your daily work. You must therefore be able to accurately assess where these risks lie and how to work safely. That's why we place a high priority on safety and the worksite.

Practice
The largest part of the training consists of theory lessons, in addition, as a participant you are expected to regularly complete practical hours during your work.

Practical lessons
If you require additional practical lessons during the course, these can be arranged in consultation. For more information, please contact the organizer by phone at 0341-499450 or by email

OCW-recognized optional
If you want to earn the MBO Allround Craftsman Civil Engineering Level 3 diploma, you'll also receive practical training, Dutch, math, and career & citizenship. You'll also take three or more electives. With an elective, you can broaden or deepen your training and focus on career advancement opportunities.

What do you get afterwards?

Once you've passed all the theory exams and the practical exam, you'll receive a level 3 diploma. You're now ready for the next step in your career in civil engineering. You're versatile, you know the theory, and you know how to carry out your work safely and professionally in practice. You can also choose to progress to the Construction Supervisor training program.
