Do you operate a truck-mounted crane and perform lifting tasks? Then you are legally required to obtain TCVT registration. During this practical training, you will learn to lift safely with a truck-mounted crane according to TCVT standard W4-04. The training is intended for (prospective) operators who use a truck-mounted crane to move loads in situations where this is considered lifting work. This includes work outside the crane's direct slewing range or when third parties are involved in unloading. The course is suitable for employees in construction, transport, logistics, or industry. You will complete the course with a recognized exam, administered by an external examination agency.

During participation in this training, additional registration for the Professional Competence Guideline (code 95) is possible. This additional registration consists of a maximum of 2 days of 7 hours of theory. Please indicate this specifically when registering; it is not automatic.

What will you learn during this TCVT training?

The course combines theory and practice. You will learn about:

The legal obligations and concepts of vertical transport.
The technical aspects of the truck-mounted crane with lifting function.
How to properly use chains, wire ropes, and lifting straps.
The essence of capacity, stability and security.
The correct connecting and guiding of loads.
How to perform lifting operations safely.
Working with load flight data.
The importance of daily maintenance and troubleshooting.

What do you get afterwards?

We conclude the training with a theoretical and practical exam (conducted by an independent agency). Upon successful completion of both exams, you will receive the TCVT registration "Autoloading Crane Operator with Hoist Function W4-04." This registration (and the XS-ID app) is issued by TCVT-RA. The cost of this registration, €195 (excl. VAT), is paid by the TCVT-RA participant. Neither SOMA Bedrijfsopleidingen nor the independent examination agency are involved in this process. The registration is valid for 5 years and can be renewed based on demonstrable practical experience (digital registration) and mandatory refresher training.

Additional information

This basic 10-day training requires good reading skills, good hand-eye coordination for operating a truck-mounted crane, and some prior knowledge of lifting operations. There is additional time for reviewing the course material and completing practical assignments. If you are unsure about the entry level, assessment (entry test) are administered to assess current knowledge levels and skills relative to the final and test objectives. The cost per half-day test per participant is €375 (excluding VAT). A short report with our findings will be provided after the test. Request the assessment here .

The registration is valid for 5 years and can be renewed based on demonstrable practical experience (digital registration) and the mandatory recertification course. The first training day is in the first 3 years and the second training day in the last 2 years.
If there are enough participants, the course will take place at the Bouw & Infra Park in Harderwijk. Due to the practical component of this course, the groups are small and therefore fill up quickly. So register on time.
