Working Safely with Asbestos Cement Pipes

Asbestos cement pipes are still common in the Dutch sewer and water network. Employees working with them must be fully aware of the risks and know exactly what safety measures to take. This course teaches you how to work responsibly on these pipes. The course is intended for employees who work on or with asbestos cement sewer pipes, such as fitters, site managers, and contractors in infrastructure or installation technology.

What will you learn during this course?

The course combines theory and practice. You will learn:

  • about the risks of working with asbestos cement pipes
  • how to define and mark a workspace
  • the distinction between types of work and which tools, work clothes and personal protective equipment you use
  • how to organize sanitary facilities and breaks according to the rules
  • the correct working methods for removing, repairing, connecting and drilling asbestos cement pipes
  • the regulations regarding temporary storage and disposal to a landfill
  • how to draw up a work plan
  • what information and instruction is required in the workplace
  • the role of the person primarily responsible during work
